January 2007 News Letter
Happy New Year, hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. Once again the NFL has scheduled their little football game for the same day as our annual directors’ election. Don’t bother calling or writing me to ask why we don’t change the day. It’s in the bylaws that it be held on the first Sunday in February. To change the date we need to rewrite the bylaws. If you want to take on that challenge let me know. The election meeting will be at 10:00 am on February 4th. There are three board positions up for grabs this year. Brad Jones needs help cleaning up the brush from the tree trimming. The club is renting a shredder this year for the job so a small crew is needed Friday afternoon around 4:00 pm on January 19th to get set up for the real work on Saturday morning at 8:00 am. This could be a long day so plenty of help is needed so people can rotate through and nobody gets stuck breaking their back all day. Starting this year member participation will be judged solely by the red sign-in book in the kitchen. In December the Member Review Committee will evaluate the participation of each membership and make recommendations to the board. If you worked and did not sign in you will not receive credit and could face disciplinary action. The board will issue letters and fines in December. If you receive a letter or fine and wish to dispute it, contact the president and ask to be placed on the agenda for the January board meeting.
I am officially giving my 12 month notice of resignation from my newsletter job. I mean it this time. December of 2007 will be the last newsletter I pen. If someone doesn’t step up and take this job the voice of the Kingsburg Gun Club will fall silent and you will have to start going to meetings to find out what is going on. I’m not kidding!
